I am delighted to welcome you to this free online workshop about clothes in England in the 1660s. Please note that the focus is on England, not on other parts of Britain.

I hope that I will be able to share with you the beauty of this period and give each of you a hand in delving into the intricacies of the costumes of the period, their cut, construction, colour, materials, accessories. While I cannot boil down many years of research into 4 weeks, I hope I can give you the tools with you on the way to do your own research, to find the books that are best for the subject, museums -in the flesh is the best, but online if must be - the best way of research and the ability to put in the end together a costume including accessories that is correct for the chosen person to be portrayed of a certain social status.
